The shoe throwing Iraqi journalist is set to be freed. Do you think he will make a political career now?

Muntazer al-Zaidi who threw his shoes at George W Bush is set to be freed from jail on Monday, apparently to a hero's welcome. If he stood for political office he may do well. What would this do to American-Iraq relations? Once the US withdraws its troops, could the Iraqi government also kick out the American oil companies and give the contracts to say French oil companies instead?
