What is the proper way to wish farewell to a soldier that is being deployed?

I just meet this guy he is in the army and is being deployed, how can I wish him farewell and tell him that I hope we can still communicate meanwhile he is over there and that he can count on me for support. and maybe some other encouraging things that they need to hear. Can someone advice me? thanks!
